George Clinton
Geroge Clinton was an antifederalist. We know this because he wrote papers in the New York Journal against the ratifacation of the constitution. He took on the name Cato in the Journal and was one of the constitutions biggest opponent. He was the governor of New York. New York was mostly antifederalist. New York was going to stray away form the other states but decided they could not live on their own. Their economy was not strong enough to be by themselves. They had the 5th biggest population with 340,241 people. George Clinton was a writer for the New York antifederalists and many people new him or respected him from the antifederalist group. Clinton didn't go to the Constitutional Convention. He didn't go to the convention because when the federalists proposed the Bill of Rights to be added to the constitution, he withdrew his objections. Then he tried to run for the Vice President of the Republican party, needless to say his antifederalist past damaged his chance of winning. Clinton was the President of the New York ratifying convention. He voted against ratifying the constitution. He had an alliance with Aaron Burr and Abraham Livings
